OpenEDMS Document Management Solution is a web based system. It allows organizations to collaboratively manage and share documents in the Internet, Intranet,and LAN environments from a standard web browser. The OpenEDMS Document Management solution supports document access control, document version control, metadata management, advanced searches, retention and archive management, and full document life cycle management.

OpenEDMS integrates with MS Office, OCR PDF converter, advanced image viewer and redaction, PBE based file encryption, and digital signature technologies.

OpenEDMS Record Management Solution provides both software and services to manage critical business documents throughout their entire lifecycle from creation through final disposition. It is an extension to the OpenEDMS document management system with feature to support file plan, record creation, record classification and record retention. In the OpenEDMS, a system resource such as document, folder, workflow process or email can be declared as record, which will follow record management rules guided with predefined file plans.

OpenEDMS Workflow Management module is a component of the OpenEDMS document management system. It supports document submission, review, approval, and distribution processing. The OpenEDMS workflow module provides email and instant message protocols for workflow events notifications and browser based workflow manager for user to conduct document submission, review and approval tasks. The documents can be digitally signed with PKI based digital signatures. The approved document can be converted into PDF with watermark insertions.
